Falcon 2: UAE’s Technology Innovation Institute Releases New AI Model Series, Outperforming Meta’s New Llama 3

 

The Technology Innovation Institute (TII) of the UAE has recently introduced a new AI model series called Falcon 2, which marks a significant advancement in the world of AI. This new series includes two notable versions: Falcon 2 11B and Falcon 2 11B VLM. Falcon 2 11B, trained on 5.5 trillion tokens with 11 billion parameters, outperforms Meta's recent Llama 3 and matches the performance of Google's Gemma 7B. Additionally, Falcon 2 11B VLM stands out for its vision-to-language model capabilities, allowing it to convert visual inputs into textual outputs, opening new avenues in AI innovation.

TII's AI models have consistently held a top-tier position globally, and the new Falcon 2 model is another step forward in this journey. The Falcon 2 11B models come with multilingual capabilities, enabling them to tackle tasks in various languages such as English, French, Spanish, German, Portuguese, and more, across diverse scenarios.
