UAE's collaboration with Greece aims at exchange of publishing experience

Argiris Kastaniotis from Kastaniotis Publishing delved into the pivotal role of the publishing industry in fostering cultural exchange between Greece and the United Arab Emirates. He highlighted the challenges and collaborative efforts required to promote intercultural dialogue through literature. According to Kastaniotis, the publishing sector can bridge cultural gaps and enhance mutual understanding by sharing diverse narratives and literary works.

Another significant session featured Ameera BinKadra and Khalid Al Ali, who, alongside Greek publishers from Entypois Publications, Papadimas Publications, and Nikas Publications, focused on the essential role of publishing in preserving historical and cultural content. They discussed how publishing serves as a repository of cultural heritage and its impact on educational resources and information dissemination. This dialogue emphasized the importance of maintaining and promoting cultural identity through published works.

The Emirates Publishers Association (EPA) hosted sessions dedicated to the buying and selling of publishing and translation rights, facilitating collaboration between Emirati and international publishers. These sessions aimed to expand the presence of Arabic literature on the global stage, fostering a greater appreciation for Arabic literary contributions worldwide. By enabling such exchanges, the EPA seeks to promote a richer and more diverse global literary landscape.
