China Urges Iran and UAE to Peacefully Resolve Their Island Dispute Through Dialogue

China wants Iran and the United Arab Emirates to solve their problems peacefully. The foreign ministry in China said on Monday that Iran and the UAE should talk to each other and fix their disagreements through calm discussions.

Iran and the UAE do not agree about some islands. The UAE says the islands belong to them, but Iran says the islands are part of Iran. On Sunday, Iran told China's ambassador in Tehran that they are unhappy with a statement China made together with the UAE about the islands.

China position on the islands has not changed, according to Mao Ning from the Chinese foreign ministry. China does not want Iran and the UAE to argue about the islands. Mao Ning said they hope the two countries can talk to one another and find an agreement without fighting.

The article also provides background information on the disagreement between Iran and the UAE over ownership of some islands. It explains that China wants the two countries to peacefully resolve their differences through open communication and diplomacy instead of conflict. China believes disputes should be handled privately between the affected countries instead of escalating tensions.
