UAE and Japan Strengthen Economic Ties

 



The UAE and Japan have signed new agreements to boost trade relations and collaboration A high level delegation from the UAE visited Japan and held meetings This aimed to take the strategic partnership between the two countries to greater heights. 


A key agreement was signed between Adnoc of UAE and Japan Bank for International Cooperation It will provide $3 billion in green financing to support Adnoc efforts in emission reduction and adopting low carbon solutions Another MoU on strategic oil reserves was signed between Adnoc and Japanese agency for energy and natural resources This will ensure stable supply and energy security.


The countries explored opportunities together in important sectors like energy technology, digital transformation advanced industries and finance UAE Minister of Industry Dr Sultan Al Jaber met with Japanese Prime Minister Fumio Kishida They emphasized the deep ties between the nations and their commitment to further the relationship Bilateral trade has significantly grown in recent years. 


UAE is currently Japan's largest trading partner among GCC countries Bilateral non oil trade between them touched $15.6 billion in 2023 UAE also attracted around 82% of total Japanese investment in the Middle East last year covering fields such as technology and renewable energy It supplied over 35 million barrels of oil to Japan in April 2024 alone.


By strengthening collaboration in trade investment energy and other sectors the UAE and Japan aim to take their strategic economic partnership to new heights This will open more opportunities for companies and industries on both sides.
