Army Chief Thanks Allies for Supporting Pakistan

 


The Chief of Army Staff General Syed Asim Munir thanked some friendly countries for supporting Pakistan during difficult times. In his Independence Day speech he expressed gratitude to Saudi Arabia United Arab Emirates China Qatar and Turkey. Pakistan has faced economic problems in the last few years with rising inflation and falling currency value. These nations helped Pakistan deal with the crisis situation. 


Saudi Arabia, UAE and China in particular gave financial support to Pakistan They provided loans and committed to refinancing existing debt obligations This enabled Pakistan to secure a critical loan program from the International Monetary Fund. As strategic partners these countries bailed out Pakistan from economic hardships on multiple occasions. Their support boosted Pakistan foreign reserves and stabilized the Rupee. 


General Munir said during times of need these friendly nations stood with Pakistan Their assistance helped the nation overcome economic challenges Strong bonds of cooperation exist between Pakistan and these allies They have invested in many development projects in Pakistan over the years. Economic trade and investment ties are expanding which benefits both sides. 


The Army Chief also talked about peace with Afghanistan He said Pakistan wants good relations based on mutual respect However Afghanistan should not allow militants like the TTP to function from its soil These groups target Pakistan and destabilize the region Pakistan has asked Afghanistan multiple times to crack down on such terrorists Peace at the border is important for both countries.


General Munir also addressed the issue of freedom of speech in Pakistan He said the constitution guarantees it but with some reasonable limits.Recently Pakistan banned a digital platform and is regulating online activities more closely While security is a concern, excessive limits on open discussion are against basic democratic values Finding the right balance is important to uphold people rights and interests.


The Army Chief Independence Day message focused on acknowledging allies support and ensuring a stable external environment for Pakistan Internal security regional peace and upholding democratic freedoms are equally significant to take the nation forward effectively.
