Dubai Autism Center's Groundbreaking Dental Clinic

Dubai has taken a significant step towards inclusivity by launching the UAE's first autism-friendly dental clinic. Established by the Dubai Autism Center DAC in collaboration with Curaden, this innovative facility is designed to cater to the unique oral health needs of individuals with autism.

The clinic is located within the DAC premises and combines advanced dental technology with a sensory sensitive environment to provide a stress free experience for patients. With features like dimmed lighting, noise canceling headphones, and a calming color scheme the clinic ensures a soothing atmosphere for individuals on the autism spectrum.

The clinic offers a range of services, including routine check-ups, dental cleanings, and cavity treatments. The staff, who have been trained at the DAC, use empathetic communication techniques to create a comfortable environment and address sensory sensitivities with patience and care.

This initiative is a joint effort between the Dubai Autism Center and Curaden MEA, known for its Curaprox brand. The partnership aims to make oral care accessible for everyone, redefining how dental care is delivered to individuals with autism.

The Dubai Autism Center, established in 2001 under the guidance of Dubai's leadership, is a non-profit organization that offers educational, therapeutic, and psychological services for children with autism and their families. This new dental clinic is a testament to the center's dedication to supporting inclusion and well-being for people of determination in the UAE.

The launch of this autism-friendly dental clinic is particularly significant as autism spectrum disorder (ASD) affects 1 in 36 children, highlighting the need for tailored services like this. The initiative reflects Dubai's broader commitment to inclusivity and sets an example for the region and beyond.
