UAE's Investments in Bahrain Reach $2 Billion



The Bahrain News has reported that the UAE's investments in the Kingdom of Bahrain have reached a phenomenal $2 billion. This was made known by the Finance and National Economy Minister, Shaikh Salman bin Khalifa Al Khalifa, during a statement to the members of parliament.


The minister provided some interesting facts regarding the depth of the economic presence of the UAE in Bahrain. He said that 110 branches of companies from the UAE are operating in the country. Moreover, there are 1,200 Bahraini companies with UAE investors, and 6,900 Emirati nationals have stocks in the Bahrain Bourse, the country's stock exchange.


The economic relationship between the two Gulf countries is much more than a business or commercial venture. The minister also added that 3,000 Emiratis own property in the kingdom of Bahrain, while 1,978 Emiratis are licensed to conduct business activities in the kingdom.


These figures indicate the good economic cooperation and integration between the UAE and Bahrain. The significant investment of the UAE in Bahrain reflects the close bilateral relationship between the two countries and their interest in fostering regional economic growth and development.


The minister's comment highlights some of the many contributions made by the UAE to Bahrain's economy. This is an investment that not only strengthens economic ties between the two but also leads to employment creation and eventually the overall improvement of Bahrain's economy.


As this continues, so will UAE investments in the country and, in time, reinforce the strong economical partnership with its Gulf neighbor, Bahrain.
