UAE and Armenia Strengthen Ties for Future Cooperation

The President of the UAE, His Highness Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, met with the President of Armenia, His Excellency Vahagn Khachaturyan, to talk about strengthening the relationship between their two countries. The meeting took place in Abu Dhabi at Qasr Al Bahr during the Armenian President’s working visit to the UAE.

Both leaders focused on improving economic and investment ties. The UAE is already Armenia’s top trading partner in the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC), making up 90% of Armenia’s trade with the region as of 2021. This shows that there is already a strong foundation between the two countries, and now they aim to build on it.

In addition to trade and investment, the two presidents talked about many international and regional issues that are important to both countries. Sheikh Mohamed shared his hope that peace talks between Armenia and Azerbaijan would bring more stability and prosperity to the Caucasus region.

President Khachaturyan thanked Sheikh Mohamed for his support and friendship. He expressed his country's interest in developing cooperation with the UAE in many areas, not just in business. This includes cultural, political, and educational partnerships as well.

As part of his visit, President Khachaturyan went to the Sheikh Zayed Grand Mosque in Abu Dhabi. He was accompanied by the Armenian Ambassador to the UAE, Karen Grigorian, and other officials. The visit to this important landmark reflects the respect between the two nations and their cultural connection.

Overall, the meeting between the two presidents was a positive step toward a closer partnership. Both leaders are committed to working together for the benefit of their countries and to help create a better future for their people.
