Dubai's push to become an AI leader

 



Dubai has launched an ambitious program to develop AI skills amongst its populationbCalled the One Million Prompters initiative  it aims to train people in prompt engineering over the next three years. This important skill involves crafting instructions for AI systems. The program is supervised by Omer Al Olama UAE Minister for AI and Digital Economy. 


To boost its AI capabilities Dubai is partnering with major technology players One key partner is G42 the leading UAE based artificial intelligence company. G42 will support Dubai's efforts through workshops and training under the prompter program. In a boost to the partnership technology giant Microsoft recently invested $1.5 billion in G42.


The investment strengthened G42 position as an AI leader in the region. It aims to expand the company's capabilities and scale up skill building initiatives across the world. Microsoft will also collaborate with G42 to deliver more advanced AI solutions globally. This partnership is an important part of Dubai's vision to establish itself as a global AI hub.


With active government backing and strategic partners like G42 and Microsoft Dubai is well positioned to achieve its target. If successful the One Million Prompters program will provide a large talent pool proficient in prompt skills. This will help power Dubai transition into an AI driven economy as envisaged by Omer Al Olama and boost the UAE  goal of having 40% GDP from this sector. G42  role is crucial to enabling Dubai plans through technological and training support.
