WHO Evacuates 55 Patients from Gaza to UAE

The World Health Organization said that on January 1, 2025, a total of 55 patients had been evacuated from the Gaza Strip to the United Arab Emirates. The critical operation was supposed to let patients in need receive their special medical treatment. Besides that, there were 72 caregivers who accompanied them to give all kinds of necessary assistance during the transfer. Among those evacuated were patients suffering from various serious health conditions, including autoimmune diseases, blood disorders, cancer, cardiovascular problems, conditions of the eye and kidney, trauma injuries, neurological disorders, and skin diseases. WHO expressed urgency for the mission because, in fact, scores of patients in Gaza suffer from various similar illnesses whose condition has worsened under ongoing conflict and shortage of health facilities.
